The God that OVERDO

G

od is immense! The universe itself cannot contain Him (1 Kings 8:27). While God is infinite, everything He created, including us, is finite, meaning limited. As finite beings, how can we truly represent an infinite God? This challenge often discourages many from even trying.

However, I have found immense joy in striving to remove all limits from God. The Lord revealed to me that my small thinking was limiting what He wanted to accomplish through me (Psalm 78:41). Since then, I’ve worked on changing my perspective of myself and what God can do through me.

Despite the significant growth, God is calling us to reach even further. I am more excited about the future than ever before and believe that God has more in store for all of us than we’ve yet experienced. We must stretch ourselves to receive all He has planned for us and for the sake of others.

Each of us has an inner image of who we are and what we can achieve. Sadly, life and the devil often beat our hopes and dreams out of us. This not only affects us but also those who are meant to receive from us. If we don’t reach our full potential, others will miss out on their miracles.

The image within us acts as a ceiling to our accomplishments. If we see ourselves as insignificant, that’s what we will be. But God created each of us for greatness (Jeremiah 29:11). Greatness, according to God, is not about size but about impact (1 Corinthians 3:13). Not everyone is meant to gain worldwide attention, but we are all meant to influence our spheres of life meaningfully.

A significant barrier to God’s work in our lives is comparing ourselves to the wrong people (2 Corinthians 10:12). We should be inspired by spiritual giants like Paul, who, despite his shortcomings, took the limits off God and changed the world. Paul’s legacy continues two thousand years later through the New Testament.

We should strive to make a meaningful contribution to our families and friends. Are people going to thank you in eternity for how you impacted their lives (Luke 16:9)? If not, you can change that today by believing God for big things and taking the limits off.

You won’t see changes externally until they happen internally. Meditate on God’s Word to paint a new picture within you, leading to a self-fulfilling prophecy (Proverbs 23:7). We often blame external factors for our limitations, but it’s our internal thinking that truly directs our lives.

Stir yourself up, or you’ll settle to the bottom. It takes effort to swim upstream, but having a purpose greater than yourself drives you forward. If you catch fire for God, people will be drawn to you. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and do something different. God wants to reveal His plans and purposes for your life (Ephesians 5:17).

One way God reveals His will is through your desires. Delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4). What would you do if there were no limits? If that desire is from God, pursue it step by step. Before you know it, you’ll be closer to where God wants you to be.
